DHAKA, Sep 01, 2026 (BSS) - Six more children died of suspected measles across the country in the last 24 hours, raising the number of deaths from confirmed measles and measles symptoms to 979 since March 15.

According to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) control room today, 1,159 suspected measles cases were reported in the last 24 hours, while the total number of suspected cases reached 159,150 from March 15 to September 1.

A total of 72 confirmed measles cases were reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the number of confirmed cases to 19,384 since March 15.

Since March 15, a total of 139,519 suspected measles patients have been admitted to hospitals. During the same period, 134,458 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
