RANGPUR, Aug 26, 2026 (BSS) - Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu, MP, has ordered the Lalmonirhat District Hospital (LDH) authorities to take effective steps to make maximum use of the existing resources of the hospital.
"In addition to ensuring maximum utilization of existing resources, the LDH authorities should ensure cleanliness at this healthcare providing government facility, prevent irregularities and corruption, and improve the quality of patient care," he said.
He said this in his speech while presiding over the hospital management committee meeting in the conference room of Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital on Wednesday, a press release of the Rangpur Regional PID Office said here this afternoon.
The minister said, "My only point is that the hospital cannot be run as before. We should make maximum use of the resources we have. We should not just say 'this is not there, that is not there', but ensure the effective use of whatever we have."
Stating that Lalmonirhat is a border district, he said that the healthcare facilities are relatively less, although there is the infrastructure of a 250-bed LDH, there are a shortage of necessary manpower and other facilities.
Informing that the government has started the process of appointing new doctors, he said that after appointing doctors, it will be possible to run the hospital more effectively if manpower is given to other positions as well.
He directed the hospital authorities to increase surveillance so that outsourcing employees cannot take money from patients under any circumstances.
Stressing on ensuring a clean environment in the hospital, the minister said that permanent flower trees should be planted in the hospital. There will be no smellier environment, dirt and garbage in the hospital.
The minister urged the hospital officials to consult him on any issue and inform him if they have any complaints.
Stating that the government needs the cooperation of the people for the development of the country, the minister said that everyone's cooperation is very important if Bangladesh is to do well.
Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Rashedul Haque Pradhan, District Council Administrator KM Mominul Haque, Civil Surgeon Dr Md Abdul Hakim, Superintendent of the 250-bed LDH Dr Md. Abu-Al-Hajjaj, Additional Superintendent of Police (A-Circle) KM Fazlul Haque, members of the hospital management committee and journalists attended the event.
Later, Minister Asadul Habib Dulu inaugurated the distribution of high-quality food to patients at the hospital on the occasion of the founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Swechchasebak Dal.
