DHAKA, Aug 22, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Fertilizer Association (BFA) has directed fertilizer dealers across the country to ensure that farmers receive fertilizer at prices fixed by the government.
In a notice signed by BFA Chairman Md. Mosharraf Hossain, dealers were instructed to deposit funds on time, collect fertilizer promptly and ensure proper storage at designated warehouses.
The notice also directed dealers to inform the concerned Upazila Agriculture Officer about fertilizer arrivals, maintain sales registers and conduct regular monitoring to prevent the sale of fertilizer at inflated prices.
The BFA warned that violations of the directives could lead to cancellation of dealerships and legal action.
It urged dealers to remain vigilant so that unscrupulous individuals or groups cannot shift the blame onto them for selling fertilizer at excessive prices.
The association also recommended maintaining regular communication with local agriculture offices and administrations to ensure smooth distribution and prevent irregularities in fertilizer sales.
