DHAKA, Aug 21, 2026 (BSS) – Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain today visited Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) to see Prof Dr Md Asadur Rahman, head of its ENT department, who was seriously injured in an attack by miscreants.

The minister visited the hospital around 9:00 pm and inquired about the condition of the injured physician. 

He assured Prof Asadur Rahman of all necessary support during his treatment.

Director of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Brigadier General Md Asaduzzaman, along with other doctors and nurses, was present during the minister’s visit.

On the night of August 17, a group of four to five miscreants allegedly attacked Prof Asadur Rahman while he was getting into a rickshaw after finishing his chamber duties in front of Popular Diagnostic Center in Dhaka’s Shantinagar area.

He sustained serious injuries to his head, eyes and nose in the attack and is currently undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
