SAVAR, Aug 18, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD) Mir Shahe Alam today said the current government, having taken over the responsibility of running the country with a fragile economy, is making relentless efforts to move the nation forward.

“Genuine development is now taking place in the country as Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is also considering how benefits can be derived even from grass. No desired development had taken place in the country over the past 20 years,” he said.

The state minister made the remarks while responding to various questions from journalists after inspecting beautification work on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway in Savar.

Shahe Alam also said initiatives would be taken to gradually establish municipal corporations in Savar’s Aminbazar and Ashulia areas.
