DHAKA, Aug 18, 2026 (BSS) - Three more children died with symptoms of measles in the country in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths from measles-related diseases to 918, according to a press release of Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) here today.

According to the release, no one died of confirmed measles in the past 24 hours, but three children died of suspected measles. With this, a total of 99 children have died of confirmed measles and 819 of suspected measles since March 15.

In the past 24 hours, 59 new confirmed measles cases were detected. At the same time, 1,002 new suspected measles cases were identified.

According to DGHS data, a total of 144,780 suspected measles cases have been reported since March 15. During the same period, 17,989 confirmed measles cases have been detected.
