DHAKA, Aug 10, 2026 (BSS) - BNP standing committee member and Dhaka-3 lawmaker Gayeshwar Chandra Roy today said the BNP government is firmly committed to fulfilling its electoral pledges and implementing development programmes based on people's needs.

He made the remarks as the chief guest at a ceremony for distributing free summer vegetable seeds and fertilisers under an agricultural rehabilitation programme in Tegharia and Konda unions of Keraniganj upazila on Monday.

Gayeshwar, also a veteran freedom fighter, said the government had already begun work to implement the pledges made to the people during the election.

"People's demands will be taken into consideration alongside development initiatives, including local government elections. We hope the people will cooperate with us," he said.

He urged people to have confidence that the BNP government would translate its electoral commitments into reality.

The BNP leader said various welfare-oriented programmes were already being implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and pledged that the commitments made to the people would be fulfilled.

Local BNP and its affiliated organisations' leaders attended the programme.
