Nearly 38 pc fail in SSC, equivalent exams

DHAKA, Aug 10, 2026 (BSS) - Nearly 38 percent of students failed this year's Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations, with the overall pass rate standing at 62.25 percent.

A total of 18,29,485 examinees appeared in the examinations, of whom 11,38,877 students passed and 6,90,608 failed, according to the results published today.

The overall failure rate stood at 37.75 percent.

Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon announced the results at a press conference held at the conference room of the Secondary and Higher Education Division under the Ministry of Education at 10 am today.
