Riyadh Air launches daily Dhaka-Riyadh flights

DHAKA, Aug 8, 2026 (BSS) - Saudi Arabia's new national carrier Riyadh Air today launched a daily direct flight service between Dhaka and Riyadh as its inaugural Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA). 

The first flight from Riyadh touched down at the HSIA at 6:30am and was accorded a traditional water salute to mark the airline's maiden arrival in Bangladesh.

A ceremony was held at the airport to celebrate the launch of the new service.
Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Dr Abdullah Zafer H Bin Abiyah, HSIA Executive Director Group Captain S M Ragib Samad and Riyadh Air Chief Commercial Officer Vincent Coste addressed the function.

The speakers said Riyadh Air aims to connect Saudi Arabia with the world's leading cities while offering passengers a world-class travel experience.

They said the new service would establish direct connectivity between Dhaka and Riyadh and help meet the growing demand for both business and leisure travel between the two countries.

Riyadh Air will operate the route with its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, offering daily non-stop flights between Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

According to the schedule, flights will depart Riyadh at 9:20pm local time and arrive in Dhaka at 6:30am the following day. The return flight will leave Dhaka at 7:40am and reach Riyadh at 10:55am local time.

With the launch of the new service, Riyadh Air joined Saudia, Biman Bangladesh Airlines and US-Bangla Airlines in operating direct flights on the Dhaka-Riyadh route.
