DHAKA, August 6, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister’s wife Dr Zubaida Rahman today paid tribute at her father ex-Chief of Naval Staff Rear Admiral Mahbub Ali Khan marking his 42nd death anniversary.

Zubaida Rahman’s sister Shahina Khan Zaman and her daughter Zaima Rahman accompanied her during the grave visit.  

On the occasion, floral wreaths were placed at the grave of the late Mahbub Ali Khan at the Banani Military Cemetery in the city, said BNP Media Cell here. 

Later, a complete recitation of the Holy Quran, prayers, and special munajat were held seeking forgiveness for his departed soul. 

Rear Admiral Mahbub Ali Khan assumed the position of Chief of Naval Staff of the Bangladesh Navy in 1979. Later, he served in the cabinet of President Ziaur Rahman’s government. He passed away on August 6, 1984.
