RANGPUR, Aug 3, 2026 (BSS) - The second seminar of the departments of the Faculty of Sciences of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) under the research project was held on Monday. 

The University's Research and Extension Office organized the seminar in the virtual classroom of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in Academic Building-2. 
 
BRUR Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali as the chief guest gave a directional speech at the seminar on the importance of research and the improvement of the quality of the university. 

In his speech, he said that the scope and periphery of research in the university have been increased so that the research work of the researchers can be completed more efficiently, effectively and beautifully. 

Reminding the role of teachers and researchers in increasing the global ranking of the university, the Vice-chancellor said that it is important to keep the profiles, publications and areas of work of the teachers on the website updated regularly. 

Director of the Department of Research and Extension of BRUR Professor Dr Md Elias Pramanik chaired the seminar.
 
Dean of the Faculty of Sciences of BRUR Professor Dr Bijon Mohan Chaki and Professor of the Department of Chemistry of Rajshahi University Dr Md Azhar Ali addressed the seminar as special guests.
 
Professors from various universities of the country participated in the seminar as external expert members and provided their valuable opinions and guidance on the research proposals. 

Teachers from the departments of the Faculty of Sciences of BRUR attended the seminar and presented the progress and plans of their respective research projects. 
 
Various important aspects were discussed in the seminar to make the research activities more effective and timely.
