RAJSHAHI, Aug 1, 2026 (BSS) - Registration for the 150th anniversary celebration of the historic Rajshahi College was formally inaugurated today.

Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu attended the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest at the Rajshahi College auditorium.

Among the special guests were MP Shafiqul Haque Milan, Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, Rajshahi Zila Parishad Administrator Ershad Ali Isha, Rajshahi Development Authority Chairman Abul Kalam Azad, former Health Secretary S.M. Zahurul Islam and former Rajshahi College Principal Professor Mohammad Habibur Rahman.

The programme was presided over by Rajshahi College Principal Professor Dr Md Ibrahim Ali.

The event began with the national anthem, followed by a reception for the chief guest and other dignitaries.

Speakers highlighted Rajshahi College's 150-year legacy and its contribution to education, saying the anniversary celebration and reunion would strengthen ties between former and current students.

They urged alumni at home and abroad to register and participate in the celebrations.

Teachers, invited guests, former and current students, and representatives from different professions attended the programme.
