KHULNA, Aug 1, 2026 (BSS) - A two-day national job fair titled "Jobspecs 
2026" began at the Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) 
today, aiming to connect students and fresh graduates with leading employers 
from across the country.

The fair, being held on August 1-2, has been organised by Spectrum-A, the 
Skill Development Club of KUET.

Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Muhammad Maksud inaugurated the event as 
the chief guest. Among others present were Director of Students' Welfare Prof 
Dr Md Hasan Ali, Spectrum-A Moderator and Prof of the Mechanical Engineering 
Department Prof Dr Md Shariful Islam, faculty members, representatives of 
participating companies and students and job seekers from different 
universities.

A total of 20 leading national and multinational companies are taking part in 
the fair, offering opportunities for permanent employment, internships, 
professional networking and direct interaction with human resource 
representatives.

Organisers said the fair is designed to strengthen the link between students, 
fresh graduates and employers, thereby enhancing employment opportunities for 
young job seekers.

They said job seekers from 34 universities across the country have already 
submitted their resumes while 33 partner clubs from different universities 
have collaborated to ensure nationwide student participation.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, the guests stressed that in today's 
competitive job market, academic excellence alone is not sufficient.

They said professional skills, industry exposure and practical workplace 
knowledge are equally important for career success.

They noted that initiatives like "Jobspecs 2026" provide an effective 
platform for students and fresh graduates to explore career opportunities 
while enabling employers to identify skilled and promising talents.

The organisers described the event as more than just a job fair, saying it is 
intended to build long-term professional connections among students, 
graduates and industry stakeholders.

They expressed hope that the two-day event would open new avenues for 
collaboration and contribute to developing a skilled workforce in Bangladesh.
