DHAKA, Aug 01, 2026 (BSS) - Health officials today said they recorded 371 
fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours.

"During the period, (of the 371) 69 patients were hospitalised in Barishal 
division, 91 in Chattogram division, 46 in Dhaka division, 32 in Dhaka South 
City Corporation (DSCC) and 57 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 
34 in Khulna division, 23 in Mymensingh division, 17 in Rajshahi division and 
two in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) 
statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed, so 
far, 54 deaths while the disease inflicted 15,681.

The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the 
country.

Besides, the mosquito-borne disease claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 
people in 2024.
