RANGPUR, July 30, 2026 (BSS) - Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu has said that necessary steps are being taken to ensure quality of health services for all at Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RpMCH). 
 
“The present government led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is giving utmost importance to the health sector to ensure better healthcare services to the people across the country,” he said.
 
He made these remarks to journalists after presiding over the Rangpur Medical College Hospital management committee meeting  while  visiting various wards and talking to patients undergoing treatment at the hospital on Thursday afternoon 

Asadul Habib Dulu, also Chairman of the Rangpur Medical College Hospital management committee, said the government has allocated a maximum budget for the recruitment of an adequate number of doctors and health workers in the health sector. 
 
“The quality of service in the country's hospitals will be further improved by resolving the manpower crisis,” he said. 
 
Asadul Habib Dulu, also BNP Organising Secretary (Rangpur division), said that 10 more beds will be added to the existing 10 beds in the ICU unit at Rangpur Medical College Hospital very soon. 
 
In addition, separate seating arrangements will be made for one attendant each with the patients admitted in the cabin. 
 
The minister said that due to the anaesthesia crisis, it is not possible to continue surgical activities at the hospital all the time. 
 
“Necessary initiatives will be taken to ensure round-the-clock operation facilities to solve this problem,” he said. 
 
Regarding the elimination of the existing syndicate in the transport of bodies from Rangpur Medical College Hospital, he said that one kilometre-based fare list will be prepared along with the list of ambulances carrying bodies. 
 
He added, “In addition, a system of paying bills through invoices will be introduced to free the people from the harassment of syndicates during the transport of bodies from the hospital.”
 
He further said that a police control room will be set up very soon to ensure overall security of the hospital, patients and everyone. 
 
"Furthermore, instructions have been given to take necessary steps to provide adequate lighting throughout the hospital premises within the next seven days, so that no criminal can enter the hospital area at night," he said. 
 
At the same time, the Rangpur City Corporation has been asked to take measures to demolish the hospital walls and build a new entrance, remove nearby illegal structures, and resolve the problem of water logging in and around the hospital.
 
Stating about the eradication of the brokers gang in the hospital, the minister said that there is a plan to recruit more manpower through outsourcing so that this ring cannot infiltrate into the hospital.
 
“Besides, every employee will have to perform their duties wearing identity cards and prescribed clothes in the hospital,” he said. 
 
The minister sought the cooperation of all concerned in improving the quality of health service for all citizens at Rangpur Medical College Hospital. 
 
Rangpur-3 MP Mahbubur Rahman Belal, reserved women's seat MP Advocate Rezeka Sultana Fancy, Divisional Commissioner Md Shahidul Islam, Director of RpMCH Brigadier General Md Ashikur Rahman, Rangpur Development Authority Chairman Md Shamsuzzaman Samu, District Council Administrator Md Saiful Islam, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Mabud, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ruhul Amin and other concerned officials were present at the event.
