DHAKA, July 30, 2026 (BSS) – The Bangladesh government has presented premium-quality seasonal mangoes to the Maldives government as a symbol of the long-standing friendly and brotherly relations between the two countries. 

The initiative was taken to mark the 61st Independence Day of the Republic of Maldives and to commemorate the recent official visit of Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman to attend the celebrations. 

The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the Bangladesh High Commission in the Maldives today. 

According to the press release, the premium-quality fresh seasonal mangoes were formally handed over to the Maldives government through the Bangladesh High Commission in the Maldives. 

On behalf of the Bangladesh government, Bangladesh High Commissioner to the Maldives Dr Md Nazmul Islam handed over the goodwill gift to Deputy Chief of Protocol of the Maldives Ministry of Foreign Affairs Badoora Saeed. 

The press release said the gift of Bangladesh's premium-quality delicious mangoes reflects the deep ties, mutual respect and longstanding diplomatic tradition shared by the two friendly countries.
