CHATTOGRAM, July 28, 2026 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced a youth to death for killing a minor boy in 2016.

Second Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge of Chattogram Nishaduzzaman handed down the verdict against Md. Al Amin.

According to the prosecution, convict Md. Al Amin strangled seven-year-old Mahfuz with a towel in the Golidhipapara Toll Road area under the jurisdiction of Halishahar Police Station on September 5, 2016, over previous enmity.

He later dumped the body at a nearby embankment.

Md. Al Amin was sentenced to death by a Chattogram court for the murder of seven-year-old Mahfuz, whom he strangled with a towel in the Halishahar area of the city.

Mahfuz's father, Md. Mahabub, lodged a murder case with Halishahar Police Station.
