DHAKA, July 27, 2026, (BSS) - Five more children have died from suspected measles across the country in the past 24 hours, according to a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The release said the number of suspected measles cases recorded in the last 24 hours stood at 992, while the total number of suspected cases reached 124,745 between March 15 and July 27.
During the same 24-hour period, 113 confirmed measles cases were reported. The total number of confirmed measles cases from March 15 to July 27 rose to 15,555.
Since March 15, a total of 107,654 suspected measles patients have been admitted to hospitals. During the same period, 103,467 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.
Five people died from suspected measles in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths of children from suspected measles to 730 between March 15 and July 27.
No deaths from confirmed measles were reported in the past 24 hours. From March 15 to July 27, the total number of deaths from confirmed measles stood at 95.
