CHATTOGRAM, July 25, 2026 (BSS) - Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan today urged computer science and engineering students to develop expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI), describing the technology as a key enabler of high-quality IT services.

Speaking as the chief guest at a day-long workshop titled 'Challenges of Quality Software Development with AI and IT Entrepreneurship' at the university's Academic Council Room, the vice chancellor said AI should be viewed as a facilitator rather than a regulator.

"Our objective is to ensure high-quality IT services by perceiving AI as a facilitator rather than a regulator," he said.

He noted that AI is playing an increasingly important role in sectors such as business management, food security, energy efficiency, disaster management, asset management and cybersecurity. AI also holds significant potential for developing error-free software while reducing development time and costs, he added.

The workshop was organized by the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department of CUET in collaboration with MySoft Heaven (BD) Limited.

Engineer Md. Mofakhkharul Islam, CEO of MySoft Heaven (BD) Limited, delivered the keynote presentation.

The inaugural session was chaired by workshop coordinator and CUET CSE Assistant Professor Mir Md. Saqi Kawsar. Acting Head of the CSE Department Professor Dr. Mahfuzul Haque Chowdhury and Lecturer Md. Refaz Hossain were also present.
