Irregularities won't be tolerated in development, service delivery: Anee

LAKSHMIPUR, July 24, 2026 (BSS) - Water Resources Minister Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee today said the government would not tolerate any negligence or irregularities in development projects and public service delivery.

“No negligence or irregularities will be allowed in any development or service-oriented work,” the minister said while addressing a citizens' gathering at the District Lawyers' Association auditorium in Lakshmipur as the chief guest.

Anee said the government, led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, has been working relentlessly to accelerate the country's development since assuming office.

“Visible development and progress have been achieved across the country within the past three months,” he said.

Highlighting development initiatives in Lakshmipur, the minister said railway connectivity, a long-standing demand of the district's residents, has now become a reality.

He also said Chandraganj has been upgraded to an upazila, while a medical college and a nursing institute have been established in the district. In addition, Lakshmipur has gained an independent university.

District Council Administrator Shahbuddin Sabu and other distinguished guests attended the programme. 

Former President of the District Lawyers' Association Advocate AKM Humayun Kabir presided over the event.
