BOGURA, July 24, 2026 (BSS)- State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam has said the spirit of the July Mass Uprising is not merely a chapter in history but a symbol of Bangladesh's struggle for democracy, rights and liberation of the people.
So the government is committed to implementing every provision of the July Charter, he said while inaugurating the renovation work of Mir Mugdha Square at the Shibganj upazila premiseshere today.
The state minister said Mir Mugdha Square is not just the name of a structure; it is a symbol of the sacrifices, courage and aspirations of the people associated with July.
He said people passing by the square every day would remember the sacrifices of the martyrs and injured fighters of July.
He further said the sacrifices of the heroic martyrs, whose fresh blood led to the fall of the fascist government, would never go in vain.
Every martyr and injured fighter of July, he added, would remain forever in the hearts of the people, and their sacrifices could never be fully repaid, he added.
Mir Shahe Alam said Bangladesh would be built as envisioned by the martyrs through the implementing the July Charter, adding that the government is working sincerely to achieve that goal.
He also called on all concerned to remain vigilant in preserving the beauty and dignity of Mir Mugdha Square.
Local public representatives, leaders and activists of the upazila BNP, government officials, fighters of the July movement, members of martyrs' families and people from different walks of life were present.
