DHAKA, July 24, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 428 people and filed 50 cases during anti-crime drives conducted across the capital over the past 24 hours.

According to a DMP media release, the arrestees include 28 from Ramna Division, 33 from Lalbagh Division, 86 from Wari Division, 65 from Motijheel Division, 45 from Tejgaon Division, 70 from Mirpur Division, 39 from Gulshan Division and 62 from Uttara Division.

During the drives, police seized 18.25 kilograms of cannabis, 2,120 yaba tablets, 353 bottles of phensidyl syrup, three grams of heroin, eight mobile phones, one Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) identity card, three walkie-talkies, a yaba-smoking pipe made from a Tk 10 note, a piece of foil paper, a black clay smoking pipe, a sharp iron cutter, a piece of wood and a vehicle.

The DMP said the operations were carried out in different parts of the capital as part of its ongoing anti-crime campaign.

Legal action against the arrested individuals is under process.
