DHAKA, July 23, 2026 (BSS) - The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) 
examinations-2026 under the Bangladesh Open University (BOU) will begin 
simultaneously across the country tomorrow as per the previously announced 
schedule.

The examinations will be held at 216 centres set up at government and private 
colleges and other educational institutions across the country, said a press 
release 

A total of 47,041 candidates from both first and second year will participate 
in the examination. Of them, 27,796 are male and 19,238 are female.

As in previous years, the university authorities have taken all necessary 
measures, with support from the local administration, to ensure that the 
examinations are conducted in a peaceful and malpractice-free environment. 

Besides, BOU vigilance teams will monitor examination centres across the 
country.

The university also said that the postponed Bangla First Paper and Bangla 
Second Paper examinations, previously scheduled for July 17, will be held on 
dates to be announced later.
