375 new dengue cases recorded in 24 hours

DHAKA, July 22, 2026 (BSS) - Health officials today said they recorded 375 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours with most patients reporting in health facilities in southwestern Barishal region.

“During the period, (of the 375) 68 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division” which appeared to have been the worst victim of the mosquito carried diseases, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

It said among the rests, 51 were hospitalised in Chattogram division, 53 in Dhaka division, 43 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 37 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 54 in Khulna division, 19 in Mymensingh division, sixteen in Rajshahi division, 33 in Rangpur division and one in Sylhet Division.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 38 deaths while the disease inflicted 11,570.

The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country.

Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
