Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely in Barishal, Chattogram

DHAKA, July 22, 2026 (BSS) - Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in parts of Barishal and Chattogram divisions as rain and thundershowers are expected across the country in the next 24 hours from 9am today, said the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

According to a weather bulletin issued this morning, light to moderately heavy rain/thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely at most places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur at places over Barishal and Chattogram divisions, it added.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged across the country.

The highest temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 33.8 degrees Celsius in Sreemangal, while today's lowest temperature was 23.5 degrees Celsius in Sylhet.

In the past 24 hours till 6am today, Hatiya recorded the highest rainfall of 50 millimetres.

The sun will set at 6:47pm today and rise at 5:23am tomorrow in Dhaka.
