DHAKA, July 19, 2026 (BSS) - Health officials today said they recorded 473 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least one person in the past 24 hours.

“During the period, (of the 473) 75 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 63 in Chattogram division, 84 in Dhaka division, 37 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 44 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 66 in Khulna division, 36 in Mymensingh division, 23 in Rajshahi division, 42 in Rangpur division and three in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 34 deaths while the disease inflicted 10,485.

The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country.

Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
