DHAKA, July 19, 2026 (BSS) - Four more children died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, while 1,051 people were infected with measles and measles-like symptoms during the same period.
According to a press release of Directorate General of Health Services' (DGHS) issued here today, no child died from laboratory-confirmed measles in the past 24 hours. All four children died with measles symptoms.
With the latest deaths, a total of 693 children have died with measles symptoms nationwide since March 15. Besides, 95 people have died from confirmed measles. The combined death toll from confirmed measles and measles symptoms has now reached 788.
The report said 113 new confirmed measles cases were recorded in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 14,431 between March 15 and July 19.
From March 15 to July 19, a total of 100,037 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals across the country. During the same period, 96,521 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.
