DHAKA, July 17, 2026 (BSS) - One more child died with symptoms of measles in the last 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The latest death has raised the total number of deaths with measles symptoms to 685 between March 15 and July 16, said a DGHS press release today. 

No death from laboratory-confirmed measles was reported during the past 24 hours. Since March 15, a total of 95 people have died from confirmed measles, the release added.

The DGHS recorded 873 new suspected measles cases during the last 24 hours.

From March 15 to July 16, a total of 98,600 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals across the country. Of them, 95,031 patients have recovered and been discharged, according to the DGHS.
