DHAKA, July 15, 2026 (BSS) - Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Barrister Kayser Kamal, MP, today joined a doa and milad mahfil held at the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat Mosque, seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of the former Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

The programme began after Zuhr prayers with the recitation from the Holy Quran.

Special prayers were offered for the eternal peace of the departed soul of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Prayers were also offered for Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, the valiant freedom fighters, the July warriors, and those who laid down their lives in different democratic movements in the country.

The congregation also prayed for peace, progress, prosperity and welfare of the country and its people, the successful functioning of the Jatiya Sangsad, and peace, unity and prosperity of the Muslim Ummah, said a press release of parliament secretariat.

Senior Imam of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat Mosque, Md Abu Raihan, conducted the doa and munajat.

Members of Parliament, the Secretary of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat, officials and employees of the Secretariat, and other distinguished guests attended it.
