DHAKA, July 12, 2026 (BSS) - Attorney General Md Ruhul Quddus Kazal today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of former Acting President and former Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Barrister Muhammad Jamiruddin Sircar. 

In a message of condolence, the attorney general said Barrister Muhammad Jamiruddin Sircar was a distinguished figure in the country's legal fraternity, democratic institutions and constitutional landscape. 

"The nation will remember with profound respect his lifelong contributions to upholding justice, integrity, the rule of law and democratic values. As a distinguished lawyer, a guardian of parliamentary democracy and a statesman, the legacy he left for the nation will continue to inspire future generations," he said.

The attorney general prayed for the eternal peace of his departed soul and extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved members of his family.
