DHAKA, July 12, 2026 (BSS) - Chief Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of former Acting President and former Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad, Barrister Muhammad Jamiruddin Sircar.
 
In a condolence message, the Chief Justice expressed profound sorrow on behalf of himself, the Judges of both the Appellate Division and the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, and the officers and employees of the Supreme Court Registry.
 
The Chief Justice prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
 
As a mark of respect to the memory of Barrister Muhammad Jamiruddin Sircar, the proceedings of all courts of both the Appellate Division and the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh will remain suspended for the second half of the day today. The Chamber Court will also remain closed today.
