DHAKA, July 9, 2026, (BSS) - Two more children died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, while 946 new measles infections were reported during the same period.
According to a press release issued today by the Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 818 suspected measles cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of suspected cases to 108,998 between March 15 and July 9.
Besides, a total of 128 confirmed measles cases were reported during the past 24 hours, bringing the cumulative number of confirmed cases to 13,198 from March 15 to July 9.
Since March 15, a total of 92,031 suspected measles patients have been admitted to hospitals. During the same period, 88,419 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.
The release said two deaths with suspected measles were reported in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths among children with suspected measles to 654 between March 15 and July 9.
However, no death from confirmed measles was reported during the last 24 hours. Since March 15, a total of 93 people have died from confirmed measles.
