112 technical institutions with no students served show cause notice

DHAKA, July 7, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) has issued show cause notice to 112 educational institutions offering the HSC (BMT) technical curriculum asking to explain why their approval to conduct academic programmes should not be revoked, as they have failed to enroll any students over the past five years.

The institutions have been instructed to respond to the show-cause notice by July 16. Otherwise, beginning with the 2027–28 academic session, their admission activities will be suspended and their authorization to conduct classes will be cancelled.

The announcement was made in an official order issued by the Technical Education Board on Tuesday.

According to the order, the 112 institutions operating the HSC (BMT) curriculum under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board have not admitted any students during the last five years.

The institutions have been asked to submit a written explanation within the specified deadline as to why, due to this failure, their admission activities should not be suspended and their teaching approval revoked from the 2027–28 academic session.
