RAJSHAHI, July 6, 2026 (BSS) – Rajshahi University today celebrated its 73rd founding anniversary with a series of colourful programmes, reaffirming its legacy in education, research and democratic values.
The day-long celebrations on the campus featured flag hoisting, the release of balloons and festoons to inaugurate the programme, a colourful procession and a discussion meeting.
Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu, MP, attended the event as the chief guest, while Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton was present as the special guest.
The programme was chaired by Rajshahi University Vice-Chancellor Professor Faridul Islam.
The university's pro-vice-chancellors, public representatives, deans of various faculties, provosts of residential halls, teachers, students, officers and staff attended the event.
Speakers at the discussion said that since its establishment, Rajshahi University has made significant contributions to education, research, culture and democratic practices, establishing itself as one of the country's leading institutions of higher education.
They expressed the hope that, upholding its rich tradition, the university would continue to play an even greater role in advancing knowledge, promoting research, developing skilled human resources and contributing to national progress.
The anniversary celebrations concluded in a festive atmosphere, with the enthusiastic participation of teachers, students and staff adding vibrancy to the campus.
