CHATTOGRAM, July 5, 2026 (BSS) – Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) and Premier University (PU) today jointly launched the City Service Incubator and Research Centre at the university's GEC More campus.

Dr Tim Evans, vice-president of Concordia University, Canada, attended the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest this afternoon.

In July 2025, Chattogram Mayor Dr Shahadat Hossain visited Concordia University in Canada, where he held discussions with Dr Tim Evans on education, research and international collaboration.

Those discussions led to the establishment of the City Service Incubator and Research Centre, which will serve as a key platform for urban management, innovation, research and international collaboration.

Before the inauguration, Premier University and Concordia University signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote joint research, development initiatives, and faculty and student exchange programmes.

The agreement is expected to create new opportunities for high-quality research, academic collaboration and knowledge sharing between the two institutions.

Among others, PU Vice-Chancellor Prof SM Noshrul Kadir, Treasurer Prof Dr Zahed Hossain Sikder, Registrar Mohammad Iftekhar Monir, Regional Executive Officer Raktim Chowdhury and Executive Magistrate Moinul Hossain Chowdhury attended the event.
