Survey on technological status in 471 schools begins soon

DHAKA, July 5, 2026 (BSS)-A nationwide survey assessing the use of technology in secondary education and the current state of digital learning will begin soon in 471 selected schools with the support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), official sources said here today.

The survey, titled "Situational Analysis of Technology in Education," has been approved for data collection by the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE). The directorate has authorized an organization named ‘Momoda Foundation’  to implement the survey.

The approval was issued through an official order by the DSHE.
The survey is being carried out under the ADB's Regional Technical Assistance Project and has received policy approval from the Ministry of Education and the Economic Relations Division (ERD).

According to the official order, the survey will focus on six key areas at the selected schools. These include interviews with teachers, students and parents, analysis of public examination results and  collection of information on ICT laboratories, review of student attendance and quiz-based assessments to evaluate students' practical competencies in Bangla, English, Mathematics and ICT.

Under the conditions set for the survey, it must not disrupt the regular academic activities of the schools. Data collection must be conducted with the consent of the institutions and participating students. In addition, no activities that could undermine the image of the state or contradict national and religious values will be permitted.

Before the publication of the final report based on field-level findings, a workshop must be held in the presence of officials from the DSHE and the Ministry of Education.
