99,688 students to appear for HSC exam in CEB on Thursday

CHATTOGRAM, June 30, 2025 (BSS)- A total of 99,688 students are set to take 
part in this year's Higher Secondary Examination organised by the Chattogram 
Education Board (CEB).
 
The examination will commence with the Bengali First Paper next Thursday.

On Tuesday (June 30), Professor Parvez Sajjad Chowdhury, the Examination 
Controller of the Chattogram Education Board, announced that 99,688 
candidates from 283 colleges across Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, and the three 
hill districts of Rangamati, Bandarban, and Khagrachhari are expected to 
participate. 

Among these, 23,903 students, comprising 11,255 boys and 12,648 girls, belong 
to the science department while 44,238 students, including 16,342 boys and 
27,896 girls, are from the humanities department. 

Additionally, 31,539 students, consisting of 15,585 males and 15,954 females, 
will also be taking the examination from the Commerce department.
 
As per the board's data, 70,974 of the candidates are from Chattogram 
district alone, with 12,255 from Cox's Bazar, 5,439 from Rangamati, 7,353 
from Khagrachhari, and 3,667 from Bandarban. 

Prof Parvez Sajjad Chowdhury confirmed that all necessary arrangements for 
the examination have been finalized. 

The Education Board has formed 23 vigilance teams to ensure the smooth 
conduct of the examination. Among these, 15 teams are designated as general, 
while eight are classified as special teams. 

This year's examination is scheduled to take place at 114 centers under the 
Chattogram Board. 

Of the 68 centers located in Chattogram district, 26 are situated within 42 
upazilas of Chattogram city. 

In addition, there are 18 centers in Cox's Bazar district, eight in 
Bandarban, and 10 each in the Rangamati and Khagrachhari districts. 

The HSC examination for this year, which will be conducted under the Dhaka, 
Rajshahi, Jashore, Cumilla, Chattogram, Barishal, Sylhet, Dinajpur and 
Mymensingh Education Boards, will feature common questions.
