JU Chhatra Dal hosts seasonal fruit festival

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, June 30, 2026 (BSS) - Jahangirnagar University (JU) unit of  Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal today hosted a seasonal fruit festival to promote harmony and coexistence among students on the campus.

Held at the university's central cafeteria premises under the slogan "Foler Ghrane Jabi Anginay, Chhatradaler Utsabe Asuk Pran" (Let the fragrance of seasonal fruits enliven the JU campus through the student body's festival).

The event featured a variety of locally grown seasonal fruits, including mangoes, jackfruits, lotkons and pineapples.

Speaking as the chief guest, JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan said, “Coexistence among students is an essential prerequisite for a healthy academic environment, describing the fruit festival as a positive initiative reflecting that spirit.”

He said the programme demonstrated the student organization's commitment to engaging all JU students rather than limiting its activities to its own members, expressing hope that such inclusive social initiatives would continue in the future.

JU Chhatra Dal Convener Jahir Uddin Mohammad Babar said the organization had arranged the festival as part of its efforts to ensure a student-friendly campus and strengthen mutual understanding and cordial relations among different stakeholders of the university.

JU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Treasurer Professor Dr M Abdur Rab, JCD Member Secretary Wasim Ahmed Anik and leaders of the student organization, among others, were present at the programme.
