RAJSHAHI, June 25, 2026 (BSS) - A delegation led by Megha Gupta, Trade and Investment Commissioner of the Australian High Commission in Dhaka, paid a courtesy call and held an exchange of views today with University of Rajshahi (RU) Pro-Vice Chancellors (Pro-VCs) Professor Abdul Alim and Professor Mamunur Rashid. 

During the meeting held at the conference room of RU Administration Building-1, the delegation discussed interest in enhancing participatory relations between RU and higher education and research institutions in Australia. 

The discussion covered joint research, scholarships for teachers and students, teacher training, and other relevant matters.

 The Pro-VCs welcomed this initiative by the Australian government and expressed interest in working jointly toward these goals in the future. 

The Australian delegation also included Mostafizur Rahman, Senior Director for Education for Greater South Asia at the High Commission, and Minhaj Chowdhury, Senior Director for Agriculture. 

Also present at the event were various Faculty Deans of RU, Proctor Professor Mahbubur Rahman, Student Adviser Professor AHM Khurshid Alam, Director of the Office of International Affairs Professor Sajjadur Rahim, Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell Professor Md. Abu Reza, and other relevant officials.
