MBSTU holds seminar on AI, Digital Transformation

TANGAIL, June 23, 2026 (BSS)- A seminar on "Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Transformation in the 21st Century" was held at the Mawlana Bhashani 
Science and Technology University (MBSTU) here, focusing on the growing impact, opportunities and challenges of the terms [AI and digital 
transformation].

The Faculty of Social Sciences of the university organised the seminar at 10am today at the conference room of the MBSTU academic building.

Speaking as the chief guest, MBSTU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr ABM Shahidul Islam highlighted the transformative role of AI and digital 
technologies in global development.

"The rapid advancement of AI and digital technology has become one of the key driving forces of development worldwide. In this era of the Fourth Industrial 
Revolution, students must develop technology-based knowledge, research skills and innovative thinking. We are working to transform the university into a 
modern, smart and research based institution," he said.

On the occasion, Prof Dr. Mohammad Shafiqul Islam and Prof Dr. Mohammad Helal Uddin discussed the keynote papers while Prof Dr. Sanjoy Kumar Saha delivered 
the welcome address.
 
The VC further emphasized that alongside the technological adoption, ensuring the ethical and responsible use of AI is equally important.

"We must harness the potential of artificial intelligence to create new opportunities for innovation in education, research, administration and 
industry," he added.

The seminar was chaired by Prof Dr. Muhammad Rabiul Islam Liton where Prof Dr.Md Nazmus Sadekin and Prof Dr. Mostafa Kamal Nasir also addressed.

The organisers noted that AI is bringing significant changes to education, the economy, media, public administration and workplaces around the world.
 
They stressed that discussions of this nature are essential for helping society adapt to these transformations and preparing younger generations for 
a technology-driven future.

They also expressed hope that the seminar would serve as an important platform for knowledge sharing and the exchange of new ideas among the 
teachers, students, researchers and technology enthusiasts.

Faculty members and students of the university attended the event.
