RAJSHAHI, June 23, 2026 (BSS) - The Inter-Hall Cricket Competition-2026, 
organised by the Rajshahi University Central Students' Union (RUCSU), started 
here today.

The opening ceremony of the competition was held this morning at the 
university stadium.
 
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) of RU Professor Md. Abdul Alim attended 
the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest while Pro-Vice Chancellor 
(Education) Prof Mamunur Rashid and Treasurer Prof Md. Matiar Rahman were 
present as special guests.
 
The event was presided over by RUCSU Treasurer Prof Md. Setar Rahman. RUCSU 
Sports Secretary Nargis Khatun delivered the welcome address.

Among others present were provosts of various halls, Director of the 
Department of Physical Education Roksana Begum, RUCSU leaders, and other 
concerned officials.
 
Teams from 11 boys' halls and six girls' halls are participating in the 
competition. 

On the opening day today, matches were held between Shaheed Shamsuzzoha Hall 
vs Nawab Abdul Latif Hall, Bijoy-24 Hall vs Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy Hall, 
Motihar Hall vs Shaheed Habibur Rahman Hall, and Monnujan Hall vs Tapashi 
Rabeya Hall.
 
The final match of the competition will be held on June 29.
