RAJSHAHI, June 23, 2026 (BSS) - A vibrant “Role Model Talk and Career Guidance” workshop was held at Rajshahi University (RU) for female students interested in science and technology on Monday.
The event featured inspiring discussions on career development, leadership, and the growing demand in the technology and engineering sectors.
In the inaugural session, the chief guest, Abdur Rafique, Project Director of a2i (Aspire to Innovate), emphasized the importance of creating an innovative and inclusive environment for talent development.
Special guest Abdullah Al Fahim, Head of Program Management of a2i (Aspire to Innovate), said, "To develop skilled professionals for the future, it is essential to bridge the gap between institutional education and real-world workplace demands."
Also present as special guests were Rajshahi University Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul Alim and Student Advisor Professor Khurshed Alam.
Speakers at the workshop include Nadia Zaman, Principal SQA Engineer at Brain Station 23; Shakila Akter Mim, Communications Associate at UNDP Bangladesh; and Tanha Islam, Digital Product Manager at Banglalink.
The experts shared their valuable experiences and insights at the event, further highlighting the need for collaboration between educational institutions and industry.
Through the SheSTEM initiative, supported by the Netherlands Embassy, young women are being provided with the knowledge, confidence, and practical experience needed to succeed in science and technology fields.
To increase skills, equity, and inclusion in STEM careers, five partner organizations-a2i, 10 Minute School, DevLearn Consulting, LightCastle Partners, and Policy Exchange Bangladesh-are jointly implementing the SheSTEM initiative.
