RANGPUR, June 21, 2026 (BSS) - Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu has said that the government attaches utmost importance to 
improving the quality of primary education to ensure good education for children.
 
"The main tool for nation-building is education, and the foundation of this education is laid from the primary level," he said.
 
Asadul Habib Dulu said this while speaking at the inauguration of the expanded building of Khochabari Model Government Primary School in Sadar 
upazila of Lalmonirhat district as the chief guest on Sunday.
 
Former President of the Khochabari Model Government Primary School Managing Committee Md Akbar Ali presided over the event.
 
Lalmonirhat District Council Administrator AKM Mominul Haque, LGED Lalmonirhat Division Executive Engineer Md Kawsar Alam, Lalmonirhat 
Government Girls High School Headmistress Rukhsana Parveen, District Primary Education Officer Md Mominul Islam, among others, delivered speeches as 
special guests at the event. 
 
The Minister said that if children and adolescents cannot be developed with the right knowledge, morality and values at the primary level, it will be 
difficult to develop them as suitable citizens for higher education later. 
 
Regarding women's education, he said that there is no alternative to women's education for the overall development of the country. 
 
Almost half of the country's total population is women. An educated mother plays an important role in building an educated and aware generation. 
 
"Government initiatives taken at various times have a positive impact behind the progress of women in the field of education. However, many women are 
still lagging behind due to social discrimination, prejudice and various obstacles," he said. 
 
Addressing the guardians, Asadul Habib Dulu said that no girl can be married before the age of 18 as set by the government. 
 

"Legal action will be taken against those who disobey the law and complete the marriage of minors, especially the Marriage Registers (Quazis) and 
Imams," he warned. 
 
He instructed everyone to be aware and vocal in preventing various social crimes including drugs, casinos and dowry. 
 
He called on all concerned to play a responsible role from their respective positions in building a developed, prosperous and humane Bangladesh through 
the formation of a healthy society. 
 
More than a hundred students, parents and journalists were present at the inauguration ceremony. 
 
Later, the Minister for Disaster Management and Relief inaugurated the expanded new buildings of Haridev Government Primary School and Khoragachh 
Government Primary School in Sadar upazila of Lalmonirhat.
