DHAKA, June 21, 2026 (BSS) - Two more people have died of dengue across the
country in the last 24 hours while 220 new patients were admitted to
hospitals during the same period.
The information was disclosed in a dengue-related press release issued today
by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate
General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to the release, of the newly hospitalized dengue patients, 54 were
admitted in Barishal Division (outside city corporation areas), 16 in
Chattogram Division (outside city corporation areas), one in Mymensingh
Division (outside city corporation areas), four in Sylhet Division (outside
city corporation areas), and 52 in Khulna Division (outside city corporation
areas).
A total of 93 people has been diagnosed with dengue in Dhaka including: 44 in
Dhaka Division, 29 in Dhaka North City Corporation and 20 in Dhaka South City
Corporation.
During the same period, 155 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals.
With these, a total of 4,568 dengue patients have been released from
hospitals so far this year.
A total of 4,900 people has been infected with dengue with a total death
count nine so far this year.
In 2025, the country has recorded a total of 102,861 dengue infections with
413 deaths from the disease.
In 2024, a total of 101,214 dengue cases were reported, while 575 people died
of the disease.
