DHAKA, June 18, 2026, (BSS) - Five more children died of suspected measles across the country in the last 24 hours, while 1,148 new cases were reported during the same period, according to a press release issued today by the Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to the release, the number of suspected measles cases recorded in the last 24 hours was 1,009, while the total number of suspected measles cases from March 15 to June 18 stood at 89,904.
During the last 24 hours, 139 confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed cases from March 15 to June 18 to 10,773.
A total of 74,184 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals between March 15 and June 18. During the same period, 70,503 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.
The release said five deaths from suspected measles were reported in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths among children from suspected measles to 573 between March 15 and June 18.
No death from confirmed measles was reported in the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths from confirmed measles since March 15 remains at 93.
