DHAKA, June 13, 2026 (BSS) – Primary and Mass Education State Minister Bobby Hajjaj today said that cultural education is an essential part of building a creative, confident, and humane generation.
“The scope of cultural education in primary schooling will be significantly expanded to help students grow into creative, confident and humane citizens,” he said.

He said that initiative have been taken to introduce large-scale cultural education activities in Classes IV and V under the new curriculum from 2028.
“Music, dance and other cultural activities help develop children’s creativity, confidence and human values. And those who oppose cultural practice cannot be allowed to hold the future generation hostage to narrow thinking,” he added.
He further said that cultural education will be gradually introduced in primary education and through this, a generation will be built that is enriched not only in textbook knowledge but also in culture, creativity, confidence, leadership and human values.
Referring to the status of primary school teachers, he said a person fully responsible for the classroom is not merely an “assistant” but a teacher, and that a teacher’s identity and dignity should reflect their responsibilities.
