DHAKA, June 13, 2026 (BSS)- Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita today urged all to remain vigilant against misinformation targeting the aviation sector, alleging that a group is using artificial intelligence (AI) to spread false information and tarnish the government's image.

The minister made the call while inaugurating a free medical camp and blood donation programme at the Harijan Colony in the Old Launch Ghat area of Manikganj, marking the 45th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, said a ministry’s press release here.

Speaking as the chief guest, Afroza Khanam said ensuring improved, safe and harassment-free services for expatriate Bangladeshis at airports has remained one of her top priorities since assuming office.

She said the government has been implementing a series of initiatives to modernize airports, improve service quality and ensure a more passenger-friendly environment across the country's aviation facilities.

The minister alleged that a vested group is resorting to misinformation campaigns using artificial intelligence in an attempt to undermine the government's reputation. She called on citizens to remain alert and cautious against such misleading propaganda.

Highlighting the government's aviation reform agenda, Afroza Khanam said the authorities are attaching the highest importance to transforming national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines into a reliable, efficient and internationally competitive organisation.

She expressed optimism that the ongoing reform and development initiatives would further improve service standards in the country's aviation sector, enabling both general passengers and expatriate workers to benefit from enhanced air travel facilities.

Doctors from different levels in Manikganj and leaders of BNP-affiliated organisations, among others, attended the programme.
