Nitai Roy stresses fostering scientific mindset among students

DHAKA, June 12, 2026 (BSS) – Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury has underscored the need to foster a scientific mindset, research orientation and entrepreneurial spirit among students to build a prosperous nation.

The minister said the present era is the age of science and technology, and innovative thinking and creative initiatives of students will play a vital role in building a thriving Bangladesh.

The Minister made the remarks while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the 'Startup, Science Project and Innovation Idea Showcasing Program-2026' under the Educational Excellence Support Scheme (EESS) of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education at the Mohammadpur Upazila Parishad hall room in Magura today.

"Today's students are the leaders of tomorrow's Bangladesh. Their latent talent, creativity and innovative thinking have been clearly reflected through the projects showcased here."

"We must build a knowledge-based, humane and developed Bangladesh through the integration of science, technology and culture. The government remains committed to promoting scientific learning and innovation at the grassroots level,” he added.

After the inauguration, the minister visited various exhibition stalls showcasing students' innovative projects and science-based displays from different educational institutions.

During the exhibition, students presented a range of innovations, including robotics, automated irrigation systems, environmentally friendly technologies and agriculture-based solutions.

Awards were distributed among students for the best innovative projects at the day-long exhibition.
