KHULNA, May 18, 2026 (BSS) – The inaugural ceremony of the “KUET Police Outpost” was held today on the campus of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET).
The ceremony took place on the university campus this afternoon, with KUET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Masud and Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Hasan attending as chief guests.
At the beginning of the programme, deep respect was paid to the memory of late Architecture Department student S.M. Sayem Ferdous. The KUET family expressed profound grief and sorrow over his death.
Special prayers were offered seeking eternal peace for the departed soul and expressing sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Due to the sombre atmosphere, the inauguration ceremony was held in a brief and simple manner.
Without any formal speeches, the chief guests formally inaugurated the “KUET Police Outpost” by cutting a ribbon.
Later, they unveiled the nameplate of the under-construction police outpost building at the intersection adjacent to the IT Park.
Distinguished guests from the university and police administration were present on the occasion.
Following the inauguration, a doa mahfil was conducted by Imam of the KUET Central Mosque Mufti Jubayer Hasan, seeking peace, security and prosperity for the university, alongside eternal peace for the deceased student.
The guests and participants expressed hope that the launch of the “KUET Police Outpost” would further strengthen campus security, maintain law and order, and enhance overall student service activities.
