DHAKA, May 12, 2026 (BSS) - The Directorate of Primary Education has warned teachers of government primary schools against making derogatory remarks, spreading propaganda or posting objectionable content about the government and its decisions on social media.
At the same time, instructions have been issued to identify teachers involved in such activities and take departmental action against them.
The Directorate of Primary Education issued the directive today.
The directive states that some teachers at various government primary schools across the country are making negative comments, derogatory remarks and propaganda posts against the government, government offices and government decisions on social media, or sharing such content. This is harming the government's image.
The directorate noted that the "Guidelines for the Use of Social Media in Government Institutions-2019", formulated by the Cabinet Division regarding the use of social media in government institutions, are mandatory for all government employees.
It further stated that violation of these guidelines is a clear breach of government service rules and will be considered misconduct under the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 2018.
The directive instructed the relevant authorities to urgently identify teachers involved in making derogatory remarks, spreading propaganda or tarnishing the government's image through social media and take departmental action against them.
